So, yes, the version after IE7 is IE8, not IE.Next

So, yes, the version after IE7 is IE8, not IE.Next
Internet Explorer 8 Just as he was the first to talk about IE7, Bill Gates kept the tradition alive and discussed IE8 at the Mix 'n Mash event here on campus yesterday.  Bill was talking to some bloggers about IE.Next and called it IE8, the same way we do here in the IE team hallway.

a lot of options for the product name....

IE 7+1
IE VIII
IE 1000 (think binary)
IE Eight!
iIE
IE for Web 2.0 (Service Pack 2)
IE Desktop Online Web Browser Live Professional Ultimate Edition for the Internet (the marketing team really pushed for this one ;-)
Ie2.079 (we might still use this for the Math Major Edition)

Google Video Service now integrated into Blogger but without Sharing?

Google Video Service now integrated into Blogger
Perhaps it was the 8th birthday of blogger, which offers us a new feature, as Orli yesterday posted about it.

Blogger is now able to get and convert your movie files immediately into your blog posts. There is a new icon to upload your files into blogger enviroment....i have not tested it yet, but i hope it also works for ftp publishers.....as i use it.(it makes no sense to upload them to my webspace.)

Its a nice feature for bloggers to uploaded it to the blogspot enviroment, but the youtube player or interface is more flexible and customizable as the good old google player...and btw, can ohter peolple rate your videos, share them? are they collected in google video service? to many question...i must try it out...

update
Blogger has a place where you can test new experimental features: it's called Blogger in Draft and it's available at draft.blogger.com.
---------
The videos don't seem to be uploaded to Picasa Web Albums and they're not available at Google Video either, so it's unclear how you can reuse them or share them. Blogger mentions that "your videos are kept private and will not be included in Google Video search."

Freetards and Beastmaster - The Secret Life of Steve Jobs

'Freetards' and 'Beastmaster' The Secret Life of Steve Jobs
Dude, I invented the friggin iPhone. Have you heard of it?

With classic nick names like 'freetards' and 'beastmaster' Fake Steve captured an audience of 700,000 visitors to the site and around 50 emails a day.
According to Daniel Lyons, the senior editor at Forbes magazine who maintained the blog, there is no definite plan for the future of the site. 'Mr. Lyons said he invented the Fake Steve character last year, when a small group of chief executives turned bloggers attracted some media attention. He noticed that they rarely spoke candidly. "I thought, wouldn't it be funny if a C.E.O. kept a blog that really told you what he thought?.... continue

Add Ebay Items to your web sites - eBay To Go

Here you see Stephen Chang, manager of Buyer Engagement at eBay, showing Robert Scoble a new eBay widget called eBay To Go. But unlike the other products we see here this one actually is shipping today! You're getting the first look at it...

This widget will let bloggers and other people on the Internet add things they've discovered on eBay to their Web sites. That way, your readers will be able to see what items are interesting to you right on your blog or Website. It's really cool and Stephen shows me how it's done...

Blog Traffic - Which want you to use?

Blog Traffic - Which want you to use?
Digital Inspiration has a post on Getting Noticed by A-list bloggers vs Getting on Digg Front Page which makes a few worthwhile observations.

Digg Traffic - While Digg brings a rush of traffic - it does so from a site with a very broad focus in terms of topics. It also sends the traffic largely from a link with little context around it and in most cases a link that comes from a largely anonymous person.

Blog Traffic - Traffic from another blogger is different on a number of levels. While it might not come in the same numbers - it will generally come with commentary and context, from a site that usually has some sort of a single focus, from a person who has established some level of trust and/or profile with their readers.

Social Network for Parents

Social Network for ParentsParentsConnect.com is a new social network for parents that debuted at the start of this month - it was developed by MTV Networks Kids & Family Division, the creators of Nickelodeon. Despite being a brand new community, the site is already full of content and copious amounts of advertising - based on the job ads posted earlier this month (example), it seems they’re paying bloggers to seed the network and get the ball rolling.... read on
